Work With Me

Work with me.

I spent 12 years at Nike as a Portfolio Manager, Senior Program Manager, and Chief of Staff. My job was turning strategy into tangible work: running portfolios of programs, keeping executive teams aligned, and making sure the things the company said mattered actually shipped.

I was already building a business of my own when Nike laid me off in 2024. Now I run my brands full time with that same discipline, and I bring it into founder led companies: as a fractional Chief of Staff, in one day operating intensives, and in working sessions with early stage founders.

If your company has more strategy than follow through, that's the gap I close.

For founders

Consulting

Working sessions and sprints for founders and small teams. Business models, plans, and priorities for early stage founders.

For growing companies

Fractional Chief of Staff

Part time, inside your company, on your real calendar. I run:

  • A weekly rhythm for planning, priorities, and follow through
  • Quarterly and annual planning that people actually use
  • Board updates, leadership communication, and the hard memos
  • Fewer, better meetings

Limited spots. Scoped on a call.

For growing companies · One day

The Operating Intensive

One day with your leadership team to fix how the company runs.

  • Morning: we map how work actually moves through your company, and where it gets stuck
  • Afternoon: we set up the fix together. A planning rhythm, clear decision owners, and a 90 day priority list, in your real tools
  • After: a 30 day check in to tune what's working

On site or remote, with your leadership team in the room.

Good to know

Who is this for?

Founder led companies with a real team and real revenue, where the hard part is getting things done, not coming up with ideas.

Why you?

12 years at Nike turning strategy into tangible work as a Portfolio Manager, Senior Program Manager, and Chief of Staff. I was already building my own business when Nike laid me off in 2024. I know the corporate playbook, and I know what it takes to run without one.

What does it cost?

It depends on days per week and what needs fixing. I will give you a number on the first call.

Portland

Portland Stories. Coming soon

Nobody does more for this city than the people building businesses in it. They run real companies, and on top of that they give back to their communities, quietly and constantly. You walk past them every day. Portland Stories is where you get to meet them.

Know someone who fits?

Someone running a real business who also puts in the work to give back to their community. Tell me about them.

Partner

A few partners. The right ones.

My media side (the newsletter, the founder stories, the events, Instagram) reaches founders and operators building real companies, mostly women, centered on Portland. I work with a small number of brands that actually belong in that world: tech that founders use, wellness that holds up, and high end products worth the money.

  • Presenting partner on the Portland Stories series
  • Event partner: founder dinners, walks, and gatherings around Portland
  • One considered placement in the newsletter, written by me
  • Features and content that show your product in a real week

About

I'm Jill Higginbottom.

12 years at Nike as a Portfolio Manager, Senior Program Manager, and Chief of Staff. My job was turning strategy into tangible work for the biggest brand in sport.

I was laid off in 2024. I understand the layers of work, effort, and identity it takes to go from corporate to founder, because I'm living them.

Jill, Dalton, and their daughter at a Trail Blazers game

These days I'm in Portland with my husband Dalton and our daughter, building my own brands: JETSET Jill, my media side, and Fit Founder Collective, the founder community Dalton and I started together.

I also consult: business models for early stage founders, and Chief of Staff work for growing companies.

Very into: cappuccinos, dogs, good food, Oregon wine, and French design. Not into: pretending any of this is effortless.
